[A186-195] Annual Physical to Antedeans

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. A TOS card? Aren't those outside my stated pool of entries?

THE ENTRIES:
[186] annual physical
[187] annular confinement beam
[188] anodyne relay
[189] Ansata
[190] Anslem

NOTES:
[186] The Encyclopedia references DS9's "Whispers", but I felt this was a good place to fit a rare TOS card (since I was skipping all the TOS material at the time - the era hadn't been introduced in the game). Pic's source: "The Corbomite Maneuver"
[187] Source: "The Hunted"
[188] Examples: Not planning to fight this turn? Dump full WEAPONS into RANGE. A Borg Ship is coming in your direction? Transfer your RANGE into your SHIELDS. The transfer can only occur between TWO attributes and in any quantity (doesn't have to be total RANGE, for example). Start of every turn indicates you may do a transfer at the start of your opponent's turn as well. I don't love the bookkeeping, but I'm not gonna start arguing with my 1990s self. Source: "Prototype"
[189] The only way to get rid of this dilemma if you don't have the SECURITY is to let a high-INTEGRITY VIP or MEDICAL get kidnapped. Source: "The High Ground"
[190] The card affects both sides of the table. Any Jake Sisko includes personas AND AU versions of Jake. The Emissary is a Sisko. Source: While the lore references "The Visitor", the picture is pulled from "The Muse.

And now: A look at the Antedeans!

THE ENTRIES:
[191] Antares-class carrier
[192] Antede III
[193] Antedean ambassador
[194] Antedean transport
[195] Antedeans
NOTES:
[191] The Antares IS a Freighter. Mixed crews not under treaty may not cooperate, but none are considered to be under house arrest. Each affiliation on board may attempt a space mission separately from the ship, but entire ship may be affected by dilemmas. Cures may be administered by any affiliation present (by themselves). Non-Aligned aboard may join any of the teams in these attempts. Source: DS9's "For the Cause" (it is therefore the Xhosa)
[192] Source: "Manhunt"
[193] Not gonna lie, this one was tricky to work into the template. The name is my own invention. Music for the same reason Iggy Pop gets it. The Antedean was played by non other than Mick Fleetwood! While disabled, he cannot use his special ability to play Explosive Cargo (card A195) from hand. Source: "Manhunt"
[194] There is only one Antedean in the game, Glglglglglgl. In combination with him, Explosive Cargo plays fast on any ship at the same location (or on itself). While the game text supports the events of "Manhunt", the lore references "Doctor Bashir, I Presume". Since the card was designed, the information about the unseen ship on DS9 has been corrected to say Antidean Transport, rather than Antedean, so they're not the same. Regardless, the pic is just a fish-like ship off the internet.
[195] Use on your own Empathy-less ship and stop at your opponent's facility, compatible with yours! Watch out Husnock Outpost! Source: "Manhunt"

Next up: Anti-time!

Cards: Annual Physical, Annular Confinement Beam, Anodyne Relay, Terrorist Acts, Anslem, Antares, Study Bid for Membership, Glglglglglgl, Antedean Transport, Explosive Cargo

[A156-165] Anchilles to Andorian

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. A couple of Program cards, incoming... THE ENTRIES: [156] Anchilles fever [157] Ancient Philosophies [158] Ancient West [159] Andarian glass bead [160] Andevian II  How Decipher handled it, for comparison: NOTES:  [156] Probing on a dilemma doesn't leave you much space to work with, does it? Source: While first mentioned in TNG's "Code of Honor", the virus was pictured in Enterprise's "Cold Station 12". [157] Something to seed yourself? I say "first artifact encountered" because there may be more than one under such missions as Orb Negotiations, and both opponents may have seeded one under the same mission. Source: "The Host" [158] None of the named characters were in the game when I made this card (which is naturally a Program under my scheme). Holodeck Adventures would make it an Incid...

Apocalypse Rising Virtual Pack

I didn't do this for EVERY letter, but the first two AtoZ "expansions" had working booster packs of 15 cards, sorted like so: 11 commons (of 100 possibilities), 3 uncommons (of 100 possibilities) and 1 rare (of 113 possibilities). Which means that every time you refresh this page, you will get a different distribution of cards! Makes a nice palate cleanse before heading into the Encyclopedia's B's. Note that Enhanced Apocalypse Rising would have been 4 special packs with set card lists, and A's Broken Links would have come in a 40-page box, so those cards aren't in the booster.

[A1-5] 'audet IX to Abandoned

Back in the late 90s, when I was deep into the Star Trek Collectible Card Game world, one of the projects I was doing on Decipher's Bulletin Boards was a massive set of dream cards under the banner "AtoZ" (with respect to Mr. Atoz of "All Our Yesterdays"). Essentially, I took the Star Trek Encyclopedia and attempted to create an ST CCG dream card for every entry, unless the character or concept already had a card, and I think at the time, Decipher didn't have access to TOS and the movies, so those seem to be excluded as well. I got to the middle of the M's, which accounts for thousands of cards. But the thing, see, is that none of those cards had graphics. They were all just text-based. Recently, I reconnected with the ST CCG community, some of them working with the Continuing Committee, which is still making new cards. They hooked me up with excellent templates from which to bring dream cards to life. And so I've gone back to my notes a...
