Broken Links [BL-B21-25] Planet-Wide Detox to Seventh Tactical Wing

More Broken Links... This time: Some of the more complicated cards to design in the set... BROKEN LINKS: [21] Ornara [22] Quinn [23] Replimat [24] Sanctuary District A [25] Seventh Tactical Wing NOTES:  [21] Search Cargo Vessel [B332] creates a region with this mission. Source: TNG's "Symbiosis"; pic from Lower Decks' "Trusted Sources" [22] The Big Bang [B201] interacts with this card (see Female Q for rules on Q-Personnel). Not only can he move a ship to that Time Location, he also takes the possibility of points part of the way with his skills AND protects the ship from destruction. The Quinn interrupt didn't exist yet, and I'm loathe to have two cards with the same title, but the download makes the distinction. Source: "Death Wish" [23] In the list of Food-serving sites in the not to [B17]. [24] The Bell Riots card [B139] plays here and initiates timeline disruption. I tried to make it work based on that card's text, which is why you...

Broken Links [BL-B6-10] Espionage: Federation on Romulan to Forra Gegen

More Broken Links... This time: Introducing a Q-Personnel. BROKEN LINKS: [6] Espionage: Federation on Romulan [7] Baseball personnel [8] Q personnel [9] Food Fight [10] Voth personnel NOTES:  [6] Barber Shop [B65] downloads it (it's a reference to Mot making the wigs). Source: "Unification I" [7] As promised, more baseball characters. If used, Baseball goes to the point area, so her special ability recovers one that wasn't actually used. As for the persona problem, I've never liked that Jadzia Dax was listed on the Ezri cards - let her be her own person! also, it's clunky for the lore - so here's the ruling: The "surname" Dax is a persona unto itself (unless an AU) and can't be in play together. Whatever persona is in bold can switch with that persona (so Decipher's Ezris can switch with Jadzia, but this Ezri can only switch with an Ezri. If all else fails, remember the episode "Facets". [B+ 66-70] Brigitte to Brone

A bunch of cards from "The Killing Game"... THE ENTRIES: [66] Brigitte [67] British Intelligence [68] British Radio Network [69] Broik [70] Brone NOTES:  [66] French Resistance will be a Program card. The Encyclopedia misspelled her name as Brigette, I've fixed it. This is also the introduction of a red holographic icon, which AtoZ described as a Holodeck-only icon. It will be found on holo-personae, that is to say personae of flesh-and-blood personnel that have alter egos on the holodeck. The presence of the icon means that those personnel cannot report or be persona-switched unless a Holodeck is present. (Sorry, Holo-Projectors do not count.) This does not prevent those personnel from leaving the holodeck. Obviously, Decipher went a different way (think Dixon Hill), so this is AtoZ-only. Source: "The Killing Game" [67] Simple enough. Both attributes are meant to be "total". Source: "The Killing Game" [68] Both functions require a Resistance...

[B+ 61-65] Borven to Bridal Auction

Introducing a new icon... THE ENTRIES: [61] Borven, Glinn [62] Bradbury, Ray [63] Bre'Nan ritual [64] Briar Patch [65] bridal auction NOTES:  [61] Trepar will be in Broken Links; Plans of the Fourth Order appears under "F". Source: Referenced "Ties of Blood and Water"; pic from "Strange Bedfellows" [62] Odd to start a new icon with the nullifyer, but that's the alphabetical way. The SF (Science Fiction) icon is something not unlike the Rules of Acquisition icon, which I've developed for the various SF authors mentioned in the Encyclopedia's addendum. The original rocketship icon looked like this: Here, we'll find not only the real SF authors of the 40s and 50s, but also the ones from Sisko's "dream". The cards' abilities will be related to the specific author's works or themes. Source: "Far Beyond the Stars"  [63] The real use of this card may be to get that Klingon female, but it can also serve to make a...

[B231-235] Birthright to Bitters

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. Finally, a Mind Location card! THE ENTRIES: [231] "Birthright, Part I" [232] "Birthright, Part II" [233] bitanium [234] bitrious filaments [235] bitters NOTES:  [231] Mind Locations are an idea I thought up while I was doing the A Siskoid By Any Other Name articles on the Decipher boards, back in the day. It came up when discussing various AU possibilities that sprang from worlds inside characters' heads, like Data's, Bashir's, Lwaxana's, Odo's, etc. It plays just like a Time Location with two major differences: It plays on specific personnel rather than spaceline locations, and you can't time travel there. Other than that, personnel may exist there (or even be native to the Location). The card is played on a personnel mentioned by the card. That personnel is automatically disabled in the real world (where...

[A46-55] Ajax to Akorem Laan

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. Hey, we're hitting 50 entries (if not 50 cards)! THE ENTRIES: [46] Ajax, USS [47] Ajilon Prime [48] Ajur (already exists in the game) [49] "Ak'la bella doo" [50] Ak'voh NOTES: [46] The Traveller enters play when either the personnel or event do. Lakanta doesn't count. Source: "Where No One Has Gone Before" [47] A little incentive for the Klingons to attempt it, but does the Federation want them to get those points? Source: DS9's "Nor the Battle to the Strong" [48] This Vogon from "Captain's Holiday" had already been released as a Non-Aligned personnel card in the Alternate Universe expansion. [49] More interaction with Food cards. Source: "Playing God" [50] The first turn only yields the original 5 points, thus the maximum number of points obtainable through Ak'...

[A36-45] Aeon to Airponics Bay

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. We get away from missions, for once... THE ENTRIES: [36] Aeon [37] Agamemnon, USS [38] Age of Ascension [39] Age of Decision [40] Ah-Kel NOTES: [36] Can't rescue personnel stuck in Time Locations, but good for pot shots like possibly shooting down opponent's Phoenix (takes some work for the Federation), or returning with a different pilot. [37] Jean-Luc Picard is NOT matching commander. I eventually did something with fleets, but I'm not sure when that comes up. [38] A mini-Reflection Therapy with flavor. [39] The Age of Decision is a Talarian rite of passage signalling the majority for a Talarian male at 14 years. I've abandoned Trek Sense in this case. In case of a match of champions, personnel must get to location on their own steam and are not even forced to do so. If one player never sends a champion, the mission may ne...
