[A276-285] Arias to Armens

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. When Janeway was still green...

THE ENTRIES:

[276] Arias Expedition
[277] Ariel
[278] Aries, U.S.S.
[279] Arissa
[280] Arjin

NOTES:
[276] The Encyclopedia does not cover the expanded canon, so details of this mission given in the novel Mosaic, which would have changed its nature, are here ignored. Source: VOY's "Caretaker"
[277] She does not have to be present or even at the same spaceline location to exercise her option to nullify Matriarchal Society. Source: "Angel One"
[278] You can turn the play of this ship into a "what if" scenario. :-) Source: "The Icarus Factor" and "Identity Crisis"
[279] You can get pesky Romance dilemmas off her, effectively unstopping her. Conversion to INTEGRITY bonus lasts for the rest of the game. The matching green nemesis icon is on Draim. Source: "A Simple Investigation"
[280] Arjin is not a joined Trill. Source: "Playing God"

And now: While we wait for Hutch...

THE ENTRIES:

[281] Arkaria Base
[282] Arkarian water fowl
[283] Arlin, Lysia
[284] "Armageddon Game"
[285] Armens, Treaty of

NOTES:
[281] A reason to play Baryon Buildup on yourself? Meta-game-wise, your opponent will think twice before Baryoning you if Baryon Sweep is on the spaceline. The Baryon Buildup discarded is of course the one on the ship. If there is more than one on the same ship, they are all discarded. Source: TNG's "Starship Mine"
[282] The Water Fowl becomes a tasty meal. It can download its mate. Source: "Starship Mine"
[283] Had to do a bit of compositing as she was only ever mentioned. Creates another Food-serving Site. Jumja Sticks turn up later in AtoZ. Source: Mentioned in "Shadowplay"
[284] The Event affects ALL the married couples in play on your side of the table. Gives an incentive to use Keiko, Beverly Picard, Giral, etc. The discard to expose an infiltrator (read: O'Brien Founder) is voluntary, not automatic. Source: "Armageddon Game"
[285] Counters a number of strategies like seeding artifacts at your outpost's location, seeding few or no planet missions, and seeding multiple outposts (since you can target a second outpost even if opponent complies). Also note that your Sheliak that has to wait for the Facility phase still gets to be seeded. If there are no available planets to seed it, it has to be mis-seeded. Sorry. Looks like I made this card just as the first Incident was released because I never availed myself of the possibility before. Source: "The Ensigns of Command"

Next up: The first man on the Moon gets his due.

Cards: Arias Expedition, Ariel, USS Aries, Arissa, Arjin, Baryon Sweep, Arkarian Water Fowl, Lysia Arlin, I Know My Husband!, Treaty of Armens

  1. Still enjoying these! It looks like cards 276 and 284 are missing though.

[A156-165] Anchilles to Andorian

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. A couple of Program cards, incoming... THE ENTRIES: [156] Anchilles fever [157] Ancient Philosophies [158] Ancient West [159] Andarian glass bead [160] Andevian II  How Decipher handled it, for comparison: NOTES:  [156] Probing on a dilemma doesn't leave you much space to work with, does it? Source: While first mentioned in TNG's "Code of Honor", the virus was pictured in Enterprise's "Cold Station 12". [157] Something to seed yourself? I say "first artifact encountered" because there may be more than one under such missions as Orb Negotiations, and both opponents may have seeded one under the same mission. Source: "The Host" [158] None of the named characters were in the game when I made this card (which is naturally a Program under my scheme). Holodeck Adventures would make it an Incid...

[A1-5] 'audet IX to Abandoned

Back in the late 90s, when I was deep into the Star Trek Collectible Card Game world, one of the projects I was doing on Decipher's Bulletin Boards was a massive set of dream cards under the banner "AtoZ" (with respect to Mr. Atoz of "All Our Yesterdays"). Essentially, I took the Star Trek Encyclopedia and attempted to create an ST CCG dream card for every entry, unless the character or concept already had a card, and I think at the time, Decipher didn't have access to TOS and the movies, so those seem to be excluded as well. I got to the middle of the M's, which accounts for thousands of cards. But the thing, see, is that none of those cards had graphics. They were all just text-based. Recently, I reconnected with the ST CCG community, some of them working with the Continuing Committee, which is still making new cards. They hooked me up with excellent templates from which to bring dream cards to life. And so I've gone back to my notes a...

Apocalypse Rising Virtual Pack

I didn't do this for EVERY letter, but the first two AtoZ "expansions" had working booster packs of 15 cards, sorted like so: 11 commons (of 100 possibilities), 3 uncommons (of 100 possibilities) and 1 rare (of 113 possibilities). Which means that every time you refresh this page, you will get a different distribution of cards! Makes a nice palate cleanse before heading into the Encyclopedia's B's. Note that Enhanced Apocalypse Rising would have been 4 special packs with set card lists, and A's Broken Links would have come in a 40-page box, so those cards aren't in the booster.
