[A286-295] Armstrong to Arsenal

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. The first man on the Moon gets his due...

THE ENTRIES:
[286] Armstrong, Lake
[287] Armstrong, Neil
[288] Armstrong, U.S.S.
[289] Armus IX
[290] Armus (no card required)

NOTES:
[286] A Federation counterpart for the Romulans' Apnex Sea. Source: Mentioned in Star Trek: First Contact
[287] Encourages redshirting for once, but in very particular circumstances. Bajorans have a lot to gain since a number of Bajor's moons have made an appearance on the show, and will turn up in AtoZ. The points remain, even if the personnel dies. Source: Mentioned in "Threshold"
[288] Source: "Apocalypse Rising"
[289] Avian ANIMALs are those that are described as birds or fowl. Source: Mentioned in "Angel One"
[290] Armus was first introduced into the game as a dilemma, Armus - Skin of Evil, in the Basic Set.

And now: When you wish upon a star....

THE ENTRIES:
[291] Arneb
[292] Array
[293] Arriaga, Lieutenant
[294] Arridor, Dr.
[295] "Arsenal of Freedom, The"

NOTES:
[291] A card you can pair with universal Space. The new skill only lasts as long as the Youth personnel is at, or adjacent to, this location. Source: TNG's "The Child"
[292] My pre-Voyager expansion attempt tries to do a lot with a Station (Decipher went with an Incident and its bigger text box). Like the Bajoran Wormhole does for the Gamma Quadrant, the way to the Delta Quad AtoZ proposed is through the Array. Note that I've made it a one-way trip. The number of species is required so that it's actually worth it for the Caretaker to kidnap a ship. Why the Maquis ship and not Evek's Galor (in the pilot)? Because the Maquis had humans, Vulcans, Klingons and Bajorans. Evek's ship had Cardassians only. Definitely leaned hard on "Trek Sense" for this one. Source: "Caretaker"
[293] Cosplay to the rescue. Your Bajoran Wormhole is one you played. Source: "Paradise Lost"
[294] Decipher's own version (from the Voyager expansion) was intent on making him a skill horse for the Ferengi expansion. I didn't even think his "Doctor" title meant he was Medical, so a very different take. I never got to make a Replicator card, so it will be in Broken Links. Source: TNG's "The Price" and, as here, VOY's "False Profits"
[295] To mirror the show, I would have given the Minos mission a built-in Holodeck, but I never got there. Source: "The Arsenal of Freedom"

Next up: We'll break the 300 entries barrier.

Cards: Lake Armstrong, One Small Step for Man..., USS Armstrong, Diplomatic Function, Wish Upon a Star, Caretaker's Array, Arriaga, Dr. Arridor, Weapons Demonstration

[A1-5] 'audet IX to Abandoned

Back in the late 90s, when I was deep into the Star Trek Collectible Card Game world, one of the projects I was doing on Decipher's Bulletin Boards was a massive set of dream cards under the banner "AtoZ" (with respect to Mr. Atoz of "All Our Yesterdays"). Essentially, I took the Star Trek Encyclopedia and attempted to create an ST CCG dream card for every entry, unless the character or concept already had a card, and I think at the time, Decipher didn't have access to TOS and the movies, so those seem to be excluded as well. I got to the middle of the M's, which accounts for thousands of cards. But the thing, see, is that none of those cards had graphics. They were all just text-based. Recently, I reconnected with the ST CCG community, some of them working with the Continuing Committee, which is still making new cards. They hooked me up with excellent templates from which to bring dream cards to life. And so I've gone back to my notes a...

[A147-155] Amphibian to Ancestral Spirits

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. Hey, our first persona... THE ENTRIES: [147] amphibian [148] AMU [149] analeptic [150] anapestic tetrameter NOTES:  [147] She is a persona of Deanna Troi. Source: "Genesis" [148] Why if Range greater than 6? First, it encourages slower ships who need to see the outside of a binder. Second, because those ships have the bigger warp core, which leaks worse stuff. Source: "Threshold" [149] Of course, your personnel may still be mortally wounded. Hypospray's other uses cannot be used during the battle while the Event is in play - treat event's text as another "OR" clause on the equipment. Source: "Rise" [150] One function per foot in a line ;-) . Source: "Schisms" And now: Ooh, I get to skip everyone's favorite Gothic romance ghost! THE ENTRIES: [151] anaphasic life-form (no card requ...

[A166-175] Andorian to Angel One

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. More Andorian stuff... THE ENTRIES:  [166] Andorian blues [167] Andorian transport [168] Andorian tuber root [169] Andorians [170] android (no card required) But perhaps you want the icons reversed: NOTES:  [166] Since INTEGRITY is the most difficult attribute to boost... And note that it plays as a download - from hand - suspending play rather than costing a card play. Source: "Unification Part I" [167] Why dual-aligned if one of the icons is going to be Non-Aligned? Well, for purposes of many cards, it counts as both, so it's as vulnerable to Maman Picard as it is to Neural Servo Device. An experiment. Source: "Rules of Acquisition" [168] Wha--?!? All you need is 5 more points to get a victory? You have a Klingon Death Yell in hand? You figure it out. Source: "Second Sight" [169] Shrev is an invention b...
