Broken Links [BL-A1-5] Ambassador Picard to Favorite Son

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, but the next 40 cards will be different. Instead of being cards I designed in the late 90s, given graphics for the first time, these are original to TODAY. They're "broken links", cards referenced (or sometimes just implied) by other cards in the A's (what I called the Apocalypse Rising expansion) that I never got to make back in the day. Either I didn't get to the entry in the Encyclopedia, or I screwed up and forgot to make a promised card due to the time it took to get to whatever point. So imagine this as a 40-card product that fills in the gaps and makes all the cards playable, much like Decipher's own All Good Things 40-card 1st edition finale did.

BROKEN LINKS:
[1] Ambassador Picard
[2] Annie Myers
[3] Arranged Marriage
[4] Captain Paris
[5] A dilemma that turns Personnel into Taresians

NOTES:
[1] Referenced as a native of the Anti-Time (Future) Time Location [A200]. Once there, he can download one of the other locations (Past or Present) to help with the strategy. He can also download Anti-Time Anomaly, though its effects are suspended if the Time Locations are in play. Cantankerousness allows him to solve Reunion, which makes perfect sense. Source: "All Good Things..."
[2] Referenced as personnel belonging to the Deadwood program [A158]. Source: "A Fistful of Datas"
[3] Evidently, this was supposed to relate to "Haven" (the source I finally picked), but could have worked for "Cost of Living" (maybe) or "The Perfect Mate", but I missed my chance on the first two. I did make a card called Arranged Love Interest (what a clunky title) in the C's, but it's not the same. The gender stuff seems parochial today, but this matches other love interest-type cards in the game at that point. You could use it to get a free personnel download, though it would then be vulnerable to attack or capture (especially if seeded at a space mission). Arranged Marriage is referenced on Ariana [A275] whose source is also "Haven".
[4] The stated matching commander of the U.S.S. El-Batani [A61], a "younger" version of Admiral Paris (but not young enough to be AU, at least not in the source episode "Persistence of Vision" where i guess he's already a Vice-Admiral - I manipulated the uniform at least). He creates another Broken Link - Owen Paris - which will also slide into this batch of Broken Links (as played by the more recognizable Richard Herd).
[5] The Captain Alben card [A68] gives him the ability to kill Taresians, but seeing as there would be very few of these, I stated my intention to create a dilemma that would turn personnel INTO Taresians, obviously sourced from the episode "Favorite Son". Then I got to the F's and did no such thing. That's what repairing Broken Links is all about.

Next up: More Anti-Time and Food-serving options.

Cards: Ambassador Picard, Annie Meyers, Arranged Marriage, Captain Paris, Favorite Son

[A1-5] 'audet IX to Abandoned

Back in the late 90s, when I was deep into the Star Trek Collectible Card Game world, one of the projects I was doing on Decipher's Bulletin Boards was a massive set of dream cards under the banner "AtoZ" (with respect to Mr. Atoz of "All Our Yesterdays"). Essentially, I took the Star Trek Encyclopedia and attempted to create an ST CCG dream card for every entry, unless the character or concept already had a card, and I think at the time, Decipher didn't have access to TOS and the movies, so those seem to be excluded as well. I got to the middle of the M's, which accounts for thousands of cards. But the thing, see, is that none of those cards had graphics. They were all just text-based. Recently, I reconnected with the ST CCG community, some of them working with the Continuing Committee, which is still making new cards. They hooked me up with excellent templates from which to bring dream cards to life. And so I've gone back to my notes a...

[A147-155] Amphibian to Ancestral Spirits

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. Hey, our first persona... THE ENTRIES: [147] amphibian [148] AMU [149] analeptic [150] anapestic tetrameter NOTES:  [147] She is a persona of Deanna Troi. Source: "Genesis" [148] Why if Range greater than 6? First, it encourages slower ships who need to see the outside of a binder. Second, because those ships have the bigger warp core, which leaks worse stuff. Source: "Threshold" [149] Of course, your personnel may still be mortally wounded. Hypospray's other uses cannot be used during the battle while the Event is in play - treat event's text as another "OR" clause on the equipment. Source: "Rise" [150] One function per foot in a line ;-) . Source: "Schisms" And now: Ooh, I get to skip everyone's favorite Gothic romance ghost! THE ENTRIES: [151] anaphasic life-form (no card requ...

[A156-165] Anchilles to Andorian

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. A couple of Program cards, incoming... THE ENTRIES: [156] Anchilles fever [157] Ancient Philosophies [158] Ancient West [159] Andarian glass bead [160] Andevian II  How Decipher handled it, for comparison: NOTES:  [156] Probing on a dilemma doesn't leave you much space to work with, does it? Source: While first mentioned in TNG's "Code of Honor", the virus was pictured in Enterprise's "Cold Station 12". [157] Something to seed yourself? I say "first artifact encountered" because there may be more than one under such missions as Orb Negotiations, and both opponents may have seeded one under the same mission. Source: "The Host" [158] None of the named characters were in the game when I made this card (which is naturally a Program under my scheme). Holodeck Adventures would make it an Incid...
