[B161-165] Benzites to Berellians

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. Cards that play on species prejudice...

THE ENTRIES:
[161] Benzites
[162] benzocyatizine
[163] Beowulf
[164] Berel
[165] Berellians

NOTES:
[161] This is in no way meant as a racist remark (except mocking Wesley's). Not against Benzites, not against anybody. The two known Benzites are Mendon and Mordock and both were played by the same actor, the source of Wesley's confusion in "A Matter of Honor".
[162] This does not turn the Trill into a mission specialist. You can take over an opponent's Infirmary or Sickbay and use the equipment there to cure your Trill (says "any"). Source: "Equilibrium"
[163] The Program card is a mini-mission. The requirements may seem easy, but those skills are on few holographic personnel and MUST be supplied by them. Beowulf-related personnel include Freya, Grendel, King Hrothgar and Unferth. Source: "Heroes and Demons"
[164] Like Mirasta Yale, he joins the Away Team when discovered. He's Non-Aligned because he would help any alien, in my opinion, and could be used by mission-thieving Romulans, for example. Source: "First Contact"
[165] The original design was a mess because I read the Encyclopedia entry wrong. My original lore said Barellians were reputed to be good engineers, but it's the opposite. So I reversed the lore and tweaked the game text, but whether the title fits anymore, I don't know. The Dominion and Federation will stand to gain the most from this Event as they have more than one race aligned with them. I'm giving the Delta Quadrant expansions a break because they didn't exist when I designed the card, and there's no room for them anyway. The Event affects both sides of the table. The discard occurs when there are 11 ENGINEERs in play, counting both sides of the table. And yes, a Vulcan ENGINEER will get a second ENGINEER as a skill if the Vulcan species is targeted. And yes, the Event can inadvertently nullify itself by causing the limit to be exceeded. Source: "Momento Mori" (Barellians have never been seen, only referenced in "Redemption II", so this was my chance to make a Strange New Worlds card, seeing as an Andorian Aenar makes a surprising engineer.)

Next up: Ich bin ein Berliner?

Cards: All Benzites Look Alike, Symbiont Imbalance, Beowulf, Berel, Stereotypical Engineers

[A156-165] Anchilles to Andorian

Another round of dream cards for the Star Trek Collectible Card Game, resurrected from the late 90s and given graphics for the first time. A couple of Program cards, incoming... THE ENTRIES: [156] Anchilles fever [157] Ancient Philosophies [158] Ancient West [159] Andarian glass bead [160] Andevian II  How Decipher handled it, for comparison: NOTES:  [156] Probing on a dilemma doesn't leave you much space to work with, does it? Source: While first mentioned in TNG's "Code of Honor", the virus was pictured in Enterprise's "Cold Station 12". [157] Something to seed yourself? I say "first artifact encountered" because there may be more than one under such missions as Orb Negotiations, and both opponents may have seeded one under the same mission. Source: "The Host" [158] None of the named characters were in the game when I made this card (which is naturally a Program under my scheme). Holodeck Adventures would make it an Incid...

[A1-5] 'audet IX to Abandoned

Back in the late 90s, when I was deep into the Star Trek Collectible Card Game world, one of the projects I was doing on Decipher's Bulletin Boards was a massive set of dream cards under the banner "AtoZ" (with respect to Mr. Atoz of "All Our Yesterdays"). Essentially, I took the Star Trek Encyclopedia and attempted to create an ST CCG dream card for every entry, unless the character or concept already had a card, and I think at the time, Decipher didn't have access to TOS and the movies, so those seem to be excluded as well. I got to the middle of the M's, which accounts for thousands of cards. But the thing, see, is that none of those cards had graphics. They were all just text-based. Recently, I reconnected with the ST CCG community, some of them working with the Continuing Committee, which is still making new cards. They hooked me up with excellent templates from which to bring dream cards to life. And so I've gone back to my notes a...

Apocalypse Rising Virtual Pack

I didn't do this for EVERY letter, but the first two AtoZ "expansions" had working booster packs of 15 cards, sorted like so: 11 commons (of 100 possibilities), 3 uncommons (of 100 possibilities) and 1 rare (of 113 possibilities). Which means that every time you refresh this page, you will get a different distribution of cards! Makes a nice palate cleanse before heading into the Encyclopedia's B's. Note that Enhanced Apocalypse Rising would have been 4 special packs with set card lists, and A's Broken Links would have come in a 40-page box, so those cards aren't in the booster.
